BOM DÍA- The BEST BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE for clear skin (or anytime of day for energy).  Hi Im Alexandra and I actually can consider myself a health NUT.  I’ve been into anything healthy since I was super young. I went pescatarian when I was 17 and 3 months later went on a full plant based diet without hesitation.  Ive been consuming a plant based diet now for many years…and that’s one area in life I will never regret. Theres actually not one thing that makes me feel better then nourishing my body and brain with powerful foods and vegetables. I see food as energy, as nourishment. Food in French is translated to nourishment. Theres no other translation for it. Our food should be our fuel and not anything else. See it as nourishment and your entire perspective changes.  Going vegan gets you SO excited about all the beautiful veggies and foods out there. Trust me, Im going to name it vegan syndrome, because when you go, you get so enthusiastic about all the cool food and spices you can put together and create these beautiful dishes. You literally feel like you can start your own restaurant LOL. Im not kidding my fellow vegetarians or vegans can agree.   But this blog post isn’t about a plant based diet, that can be a whole other post on its own. Let me know if you guys would want more insight into it. Its about a beautiful-energizing smoothie that has helped clear up my skin TREMENDOUSLY.   Ive found it online then added my own touches.  The main ingredients to this bad-ass smoothie are: Spirulina ( FOR THE GLOW ) - What is it? One of the worlds most popular supplements. A superfood powder high in vitamins, protein, anti-oxidants, and nutrients all fundamental for the growth of healthy skin cells. Do not leave this ingredient out, k?  Bee Pollen ( E N E R G Y ) - This will actually get you pumped. Along with energy, one of the amino acids in bee pollen is called proline, a building block for collagen synthesis that can boost skin firmness, suppleness, and youthful look. No wrinkles here… or anytime soon.  Greens of your choice ( I always get dinosaur kale, always no question) - Also called Tuscan Kale, is soooo good for the skin. Loaded with anti-oxidants ( we love those for clear skin) and Vitamin C. On elf the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Containing so many powerful vitamins and minerals all in one.  Some sweet fruit ( frozen pineapple & banana) - Your choice  Cucumber - H Y D R A T I O N. If you're lazy to peel one, try persian cucumbers. The skin is edible. ;) Ginger ( You won’t even taste it) - A must. Sorry. Major anti-aging benefits. Contains around 40 anti-oxidants that prevents free radical damage (what causes aging in skin) and protect against aging. Also can even skin tone and improve elasticity.   ADD A BANANA AND ICE * There you have it ladies & gents. My secret super smoothie! Ive been drinking one almost everyday for the past year. Whether its for breakfast, post workout, or as a small  meal.  It tastes so good and the perfect pick me up from all the nutrients and energy sources.  I literally can’t rave enough about this smoothie and what it has done for my body, energy, and skin. If you don’t go to the grocery store right now and purchase these ingredients, you can’t complain about your skin not glowing anymore, k? Its affordable and d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s. If you can’t make it at home and are on the go, ask for these ingredients at the smoothie bar. I know Whole Foods definitely has them.  Im actually off to make one right now. DIY IMMUNITY BOOSTING REMEDIES WITH RAW HONEY  For all my holistic health nuts like me Immune boosting Honey infused garlic Before you say no thank you i think you should know the benefits of consuming fresh garlic  Helps your body maintain proper blood pressure  Improves heart function  Fights fungal infections  Boosts immune system  Wards off colds and flus  Most potent in its raw form, Allicin is the element of garlic that makes it beneficial, but also what makes it taste so strong. The fresher the better. If you want to be a savage and just consume it raw go ahead and do so, but be warned your breath might smell for the rest of the day…  So I recommend pairing it with another health boosting ingredient: raw honey!  It has to be RAW. Preferably local. Consuming raw honey means it hasn’t been heated and stripped of its health boosting properties and nutrients. Avoid supermarket honey’s with expiration dates.  Little tip, REAL HONEY NEVER EXPIRES! W/ immune boosting garlic and antioxidant raw honey combine the two and create a super food medicine!  The recipe is simple and amazing to quickly grab when your feeling a cold or flu coming on.  Ingredients: Raw cloves of garlic  Raw Local honey  Small jar  Method:  Peel garlic, taking the flat side of the knife, crush the peeled garlic into cloves.  Put  garlic into your jar, cover in raw honey, and close the lid. (or put garlic in your raw honey jar)  Let sit for 3 days.  That's it.  How to use:  Two options.  You can eat the garlic cloves when you're feeling ill or do what I do and use the garlic infused raw honey in my hot lemon water every morning. (Add apple cider vinegar for extra immune boosting.)  As for the taste, it is so sweet and good!  Simple health tip to boost your immune system since I think we all are in need of that right now.  Take your health seriously and practice healthier lifestyle habits to reduce your chance of getting ill.   pronounced “huh-hoe-buh”   Jojoba is a shrub that grows in dry climates such as the southwestern U.S., northern Mexico, and parts of Africa.  Its acorn-shaped seeds are rich in oil and liquid wax possessing many healing properties.   You may find jojoba oil in many products.  It helps to soothe the skin, enhances absorption of ingredients, and also extends the shelf life of oil-based products.   But did you know it’s technically not an “oil?” It is often categorized as an “oil” because of its liquid appearance, however, it is actually a liquid wax ester.  Wax esters are typically straight-chain esters of monounsaturated long chain fatty acids and alcohols.   Jojoba produces wax esters that closely mimic human sebum, an oil produced by our skin and hair.  It is in fact the closest imitation to our sebum production and that is why I recommend it for all skin types!   Whether your skin is dry, oily, or combination, jojoba oil can help balance out your skin’s moisture levels.  Its natural oils help repair the skin barrier, hydrate and protect against dehydration. In alternative medicine, jojoba oil is a natural remedy for skin conditions such as: acne, sunburns, eczema, psoriasis, stretch marks, wrinkles & more.

1. FACE MASK  This super easy and quick face mask is my GO TO. I like to do this at least 1-2 times a week for glowing skin! "With its moisturizing and soothing effects, raw honey can hydrate the skin, leaving it soft, radiant, and glowing,” says Ildi Pekar, celebrity esthetician and owner of Ildi Pekar Skin Care.  Try it: Apply a thin layer of raw honey (raw honey contains all the nutrients and enzymes unlike supermarket honey that is stripped of its nutrients through the process). Leave on for 15-20 mins, then rinse and wash it off.  Tip: I like to steam my face while having this mask on for maximum benefits. Leaves your skin looking like glass.  2. SCAR FADER  Raw Honey is a great wound healer (especially eucalyptus honey). During World War I soldiers would use honey to heal wounds and prevent wound infection during the war. The antioxidants in honey nourish damaged skin while the anti-inflammatory properties in honey help reduce the appearance of redness around a scar.  Try it: Massage raw honey directly to the affected area in a circular motion for one to two minutes, then rinse it off.  3. GENTLE EXFOLIATOR  “This is one of my favorite benefits from honey,” Pekar says. “The enzymes in the honey work well as a gentle exfoliator, helping your complexion to be healthy and radiant. Your skin will glow!” Try it: Take a small amount of raw honey and massage throughout your face in circular motions. Rinse and wash off.  4. FACE WASH  Once I found out the benefits of using raw honey as face wash I got rid of ALL my face-wash's! BUT.. I wear makeup? Well I got you girl, use coconut oil or jojoba oil (if you're acne prone) to remove makeup then with a warm wet pad/towel remove makeup, follow with a honey face wash! Honey has anti-bacterial properties to fight dirt and bacteria on your skin. Its also a humectant so while fighting bacteria its drawing moisture from the air into your skin. Leaves your skin glowing with its hydrating powers.  Try it: Take 1 tablespoon of raw honey, massage over face in upward circular motions, then rinse off and pat dry.  5. ACNE SPOT TREATMENT  Whether its a painful pimple in stage 1, 2, or 5 put some raw honey on that bad boy. Raw honey's anti-inflammatory properties reduces redness and swelling of pimples. The anti-bacterial properties can fight acne causing bacteria and the balance of these two can help slow down the production of excess oil.  Try it: Apply a small amount of raw honey to affected area, leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.  6. HAIR TREATMENT  Raw honey feeds strands the vitamins and minerals they need to thrive. It can make your hair more shiny from its hydrating and nourishing properties by its ability to lock in moisture for long periods of time.  Try it: Mix 1/2 cup of honey with two ripe bananas and one quarter cup of olive oil. Coat entire hair, put on a shower cap, and leave on for 20-25 minutes. Rinse then shampoo. Can be used two to three times a month.  Well there you have it, 6 easy, quick, and affordable ways to glow up without leaving your home! 3 Tips To Clear Up Acne 🌟

 I've always been the girl that never had nice skin. If it wasn't all the acne on my forehead and cheeks it was the texture of my skin.Trust me when I say I  was a skincare connoisseur. A skincare junkie. I had all the products you can imagine from drugstore to luxury to pharmaceutical. To be honest some of it (like 10%) actually worked for a small amount of time but then the acne returned. It was a NEVER ending battle. I had spent so much money buying expansive skincare and seeing dermatologist I was open to trying everything!  1. WHAT ARE YOU EATING?  I do live a plant based lifestyle... which really did make a difference in my skin. Its true when they say you are what you eat. What you eat will show up on that skin of yours. So tip number one is try cutting out greasy not good-for-you food and junk. Try upping your vegetable intake. Replace sugary snacks for green juices/ smoothies with powerful antioxidants and superfoods! Your body will thank you for it.  2. WATER WATER WATER  And more water!!! I shoot for a gallon a day. I sometimes achieve it, sometimes don't. But the average human should be drinking 2 liters of water a day (1/2 a gallon). Shooting for a gallon makes me drink more. When I'm not consistent on drinking 2 liters a day I notice more blemishes and redness. This has to be my number one tip if I could choose so ladies and gentlemen go chug.  3. Taking care & be patient.  Do you sleep with your makeup on? Do you give your skin tender loving care? Do you actually know what your putting on it? You might be using chemical products that claim to help solve your problems but instead can be too harsh on your skin and be doing the opposite. Personally product acne is what I had before I switched to all natural skincare. So start with using one product for awhile and see what it does to your skin. Factor out the good and bad. Be observant. Be patient. It's a journey but once you get to your skin goals its so worth it.  Stop looking for quick fixes and put in the work. Be gentle, drink your water, and watch what you're consuming. You can do it. I now how the skin I've always dreamed of and you can too.  Hope these 3 tips helped.
